C2 Guard is a non-toxic waterproofer and sealer designed for use on unsealed wood and concrete surfaces. Its unique formula absorbs deeply into the surface, forming a flexible polymer barrier that becomes part of the cellular structure. This enhanced cellular structure helps prevent the effects of mold and mildew, dry rot, cracking, peeling, cupping of wood. For concrete C2 Guard helps prevent concrete corrosion and spalling, the effects of mold and mildew, the effects of pool chemicals and eases ice and snow removal.

C2 Guard Fusion FAQs

What is C2 Fusion?

C2 Fusion is an innovative combination of 65% C2 Guard blended with 35% satin Polyurethane. It maintains the same nano particle waterproofing technology as the other Guard products, with the added aliphatic polyurethane for increased abrasion resistance on exterior and interior surfaces.

What is unique about C2 Guard Fusion?

In addition to increased abrasion resistance versus C2 Guard, C2 Fusion also improves UV resistance when tinted.

Where do I use C2 Fusion?

C2 Fusion is suitable for use on any interior or exterior wood surface such as decks, shingles, siding, fencing, railings, flooring, log homes and structural framing. Additionally, C2 Fusion’s non-toxic nature makes it ideal for use on children’s play structures, bleachers, and planters. C2 Fusion should not be applied as a clear finish.

How do I properly prepare the surface?

C2 Fusion is designed for use on properly prepared interior and exterior wood surfaces. Make certain surface is free of contaminants such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, and wax. Remove algae, mold and mildew with appropriate cleaners. Wash or pressure wash off cleaners with suitable water pressure. Pressure treated lumber requires three (3) to six (6) months exposure prior to application. Wood is ready for C2 Fusion when a drop of water “soaks-in.”

How do I apply C2 Fusion?

Stir the product thoroughly prior to and during application. C2 Fusion should be applied as two coats with 1-2 hours dry time between coats. Test in an inconspicuous area to ensure appropriateness of color. Preferred method of application is brush, pad, or pump sprayer. HVLP sprayers and airless sprayers are acceptable application methods. When performing spray application, ensure that the surface is generously coated. If using airless application method, use low-pressure settings and a tip size greater than 17. For the ultimate system, treat wood on all sides and edges including end grain. C2 Fusion may be used on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

What is the coverage rate?

Coverage rate will vary depending on the species of wood being coated. C2 Fusion should not be applied at greater than three hundred (300) square feet per gallon. Do not thin C2 Fusion prior to application.

What is the dry time?

Light foot traffic is acceptable after water evaporates and coating is dry to the touch. In most cases water will evaporate within two (2) to three (3) hours. Permit to dry 24 hours before full use.

Does C2 Guard Fusion come in colors?

Yes, it can be tinted to a variety of beautiful stain colors. It is designed to be tinted. Do not use as a clear.

Can C2 Guard Fusion be applied on top of other finishes?
